In my third year of college I worked with a small deaf-technology start-up. I worked coordinating initial manufacturing for Hz Innovations (Wavio) in order to create a system which offers intelligent in-home sound recognition technology. The IOT device would be able to recognize the should and source of important information and relay it to the users smartphone. This would allow those who are hard-of-hearing to be alert of their surroundings, from doorbells to break-ins. While working for them my responsibilities included negotiating manufacturing, prototyping, and making early phase development decisions.
